Our Regions |
Would you like to be more involved in leadership for your profession? Do you enjoy working with colleagues and sharing ideas? Do you enjoy the challenge of creating and organizing activities and meetings?
If so, consider becoming a regional coordinator for TFLA!
There are 7 regions throughout the state: Big Bend (El Paso, Monahans, Alpine), Panhandle (Lubbock, Amarillo), Big Country (Wichita Falls, Arlington, Fort Worth), East Texas (Dallas, Longview), Central Texas (Austin, Waco), Gulf Coast (Houston, Beaumont), and South Texas (San Marcos, San Antonio, Laredo). As part of its mission to serve the teachers of Texas, TFLA has established a network of regional coordinators to represent the teachers of each region, provide feedback about teacher needs, and help organize and direct a regional conference for local teachers within their area, so that all world language teachers can attend high-quality professional development.

In 2014 we divided the state into 7 regions in order to better connect with our membership and bring quality LOTE professional development opportunities within reach to all world language educators.
This is the map of the 7 TFLA Regions.
A Regional Coordinator has been selected from each region to serve as a contact point between LOTE educators in that area and the greater TFLA Organization.
